Elementary school Litija is placed in small town Litija almost in the middle of Slovenia. The river Sava separates Litija on left and right part of town. This school year we started working in a completely new, modern, spacious building. Beside the main school we have Subsidiary elementary school Sava, Subsidiary elementary school Polšnik, Subsidiary elementary school for pupils with special needs Litija and Kindergarten Polšnik.

On main school there are 17 classes with 360 pupils aged 6 - 14 years. On Subsidiary elementary school Sava there are 3 classes with 29 pupils aged 6 - 10 years, on Subsidiary elementary school Polšnik there are 2 classes with 24 pupils aged 6 - 10 years and on Subsidiary elementary school for pupils with special needs there are 4 classes with 20 pupils and 3 special groups with 18 pupils. In Kindergarten Polšnik we have 2 groups with 27 kids. Teachers' council consists of 59 teachers.
Elementary school Litija is a sports and cultural center, which enable superior performance, excellent knowledge, rich culture, friendly atmosphere and personal development of each pupil.
Pupils with special needs (learning difficulties, physical disabilities ...) are as much as possible integrated in regular life in school. Working conditions for them and for all of us in the new building are immeasurably better.
Among other things we are also eTwinning school with several successful projects. We have got 8 National quality labels, 5 European quality labels and we were once nominated for European Award. It is true: in KA 2 we are begginers, but we are willing to work hard.
Because all of that, we want to upgrade our work with schools abroad, we want our pupils offer the best conditions to live in the modern era, in the European Union.
Ecology is an issue that occurs in all our curricula, therefore intergenerational and interdisciplinary cooperation is not only possible but urgent as well.
Our school provides an inquiry-based approach to science that is fun and meaningful. We should teach pupils more how to design and conduct scientific experiments in ecology.  Pupils have to learn the scientific method by doing it, from experimental design and hypothesis, data gathering and analysis, to reporting results and conclusions.
I have already written that among other things we are also eTwinning school with several successful projects. We have got 8 National quality labels, 5 European quality labels and we were also nominated for European Award. It is true: in KA 2 we are beginners, but we are willing to work hard.
We built varied team,  which includes teachers from different subject areas, so we can complement each other: English teacher, teacher of computer science, Science teachers, librarian ...
Knowledge and skills we have enough, the fact that we are in new school, means we also have appropriate working conditions.
